See the full path to the executable and DLL underlying any window on your desktop. Great tool to better understand what is going on in your computer, to troubleshoot problems that involve unknown windows, and for security, to know when a window is being projected onto the desktop by a suspicious program.
ID Window a simple tray program that sits in the tray and helps you identify the actual full path and filename of the executable and DLL that is controlling any window. With the red "IW" icon showing in the tray icon, you can move your mouse pointer to the title bar of any window, and after pausing the pointer for a second, it will show the fully qualified pathname of the executable (e.g., c:\windows\explorer.exe), and if the option is set, the DLL (e.g., c:\windows\somefile.dll).
If the window does not have a title bar, hovering the mouse anywhere on the window will result in showing the caption with the information, at the tray.
